Executive Director – Full-Time (Exempt, 40 hrs/week)
The Solano County Farm Bureau (SCFB) is seeking a dynamic and organized Executive Director to lead a non-profit, membership-driven organization representing the interests of farmers and ranchers in Solano County. This position also oversees the charitable arm of SCFB, the Solano County Ag Education Foundation.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Board President, the Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of SCFB and its Foundation. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors, supervises staff, and implements policies that advance the organization’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee office operations and personnel
• Maintain records and manage budgets/financials (QuickBooks), including monthly reports
• Lead membership recruitment and retention
• Plan and coordinate events, including community outreach
• Serve as Recording Secretary for the Board of Directors (minutes and agenda packets)
• Update and manage the SCFB website and social media
• Coordinate bi-monthly newsletters and weekly e-news updates
• Manage the Ag Education Foundation’s finances, programs, fundraising, and board support
Desired Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in management or administration
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing platforms
• Bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Public speaking and comfort with advocacy roles
• Experience working with a board of directors
• Understanding of or willingness to learn about local agriculture
• Self-motivated with flexibility for varied hours
