Description: The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) works in partnership with consumers and other stakeholders to provide services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living, and equality for individuals with disabilities. The Workforce Development Section (WDS) of DOR works collaboratively with local and national business partners to develop strategies that support businesses who want to build and maintain an inclusive workforce. The partnerships with public and private sector businesses help to increase awareness of the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities. Businesses call on WDS for no-cost disability awareness training, online recruitment tools and information about hiring incentives and job accommodations. WDS also provides employment information, resource materials, technical assistance and training to the DOR Teams statewide, supporting the successful implementation of local employment strategies.
